Vote November 7th for Cheryl Graziano for Region 9 Board of Education

Cheryl Graziano is seeking election to the Region 9 Board of Education and is a strong proponent for providing high quality, inclusive and effective education. Cheryl and her family have lived in Redding since 2011. She and her husband Peter Graziano are proud parents of three daughters who attend Joel Barlow High School and John Read Middle School, respectively.

Cheryl is a certified public accountant with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and a Masters Degree in Journalism. She currently leads the global accounting, controls and compliance activities at a Fortune 500 company. She has 22+ years of experience, which includes budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, regulation and auditing. This experience will provide the following for the Region 9 Board:

  • A strong foundation for long-term strategic planning and investment in developing young adults with well-educated minds, and
  • The skill set needed to ensure annual education budgets are appropriate and reasonable AND support long-term investment in the future

For nearly ten years Cheryl worked for a professional association to develop educational programs and advocate issues for 15,000 members in the US and Canada. As a Region 9 Board member this will foster:

  • Effective support of a strong curriculum that meets the learning needs of all Barlow students;
  • Inclusive and open-minded collaboration with town leaders and residents;
  • A willingness to listen to varying views, and
  • Patience with the process of finding consensus.

Cheryl also has over 10 years of volunteer leadership experience serving in the Flocktown-Kossmann School (NJ), Morris County (NJ) and Redding Elementary School (CT) chapters of the Parent Teacher Association. She has volunteered for Junior Achievement and currently serves as a philanthropy liaison of the Redding chapter of the National Charity League and is a Committee member of the Redding Easton Basketball Association.
